I had four locks that were keyed differently. The booklet that comes with this kit explained clearly how to modify them to use the same key. Even though this kit doesn't contain the one extra tool needed to modify deadbolt locks, I was able to use an icepick and needle-nose pliers to take the place of the missing tool. A no-brainer. Highly recommended.

This kit has everything you need to rekey a home lock EXCEPT for the cylinder cap removal tool. This tool is not needed for the knobs but is needed for the deadbolts. Since nearly all homes have deadbolts on the outside doors, you will want this extra tool.br /br /As another reviewer commented, you can make do with just pliers and a bit of patience, but the tool does make things easier. Since the tool by itself usually sells for - it might make more sense to go for the larger Schlage 40-132 keying kit.br /br /Otherwise, these keying kits are a no-brainer and a must-have. The last time we asked a locksmith to match our locks, he rekeyed just two and charged us 0. This kit paid for itself halfway through the very first rekeying that we did!

In just a couple of minutes this thing works like a champ. Just push the 'learn' button on the power head of your opener, then push the button on the transmitter you want to associate with the door to be opend, and viola, the door opens. Before I ordered, I called Genie's customer service folks to make sure what transmitter I needed, they were great. Genie makes great products.

My original 3 button Genie remotes that came with the garage door opener were the older style. When both remotes suddenly stopped working, I bought one of these as a replacement. I did not mount the clips on them, and decided to keep them in my pocket. Much to my surprise, the garage door now opens whenever I sit down or squat. br /br /The button is too sensitive and too easy to accidentally activate. Absolutely maddening.
