I had four locks that were keyed differently. The booklet that comes with this kit explained clearly how to modify them to use the same key. Even though this kit doesn't contain the one extra tool needed to modify deadbolt locks, I was able to use an icepick and needle-nose pliers to take the place of the missing tool. A no-brainer. Highly recommended.

This kit has everything you need to rekey a home lock EXCEPT for the cylinder cap removal tool. This tool is not needed for the knobs but is needed for the deadbolts. Since nearly all homes have deadbolts on the outside doors, you will want this extra tool.br /br /As another reviewer commented, you can make do with just pliers and a bit of patience, but the tool does make things easier. Since the tool by itself usually sells for - it might make more sense to go for the larger Schlage 40-132 keying kit.br /br /Otherwise, these keying kits are a no-brainer and a must-have. The last time we asked a locksmith to match our locks, he rekeyed just two and charged us 0. This kit paid for itself halfway through the very first rekeying that we did!

In just a couple of minutes this thing works like a champ. Just push the 'learn' button on the power head of your opener, then push the button on the transmitter you want to associate with the door to be opend, and viola, the door opens. Before I ordered, I called Genie's customer service folks to make sure what transmitter I needed, they were great. Genie makes great products.

My original 3 button Genie remotes that came with the garage door opener were the older style. When both remotes suddenly stopped working, I bought one of these as a replacement. I did not mount the clips on them, and decided to keep them in my pocket. Much to my surprise, the garage door now opens whenever I sit down or squat. br /br /The button is too sensitive and too easy to accidentally activate. Absolutely maddening.

Installs fairly easily, but may require spacers and adaptation for specific applications. br /br /A fairly easy way to make a sliding door practically child/challenged adult proof. Not made for outside sliding doors - Stephen Cleman -
The Amazon description fails to mention that this device only works on patio doors in which the sliding part is on the inside track, not one, like mine, in which the part that slides is on the outer track. After buying it and realizing it didn't work, I went to the manufacture's website and there it clearly states that it does not work on sliding doors on the outside. If this had appeared in the Amazon description it would have saved me the hassle of having to return it. br /br /The product itself looks good and the company was great about refunding my money.

This is one nice product. It has the strike plat punches. I do wood and metal doors. Deadbolt locksets. The bit last longer if you use low on your drill and yes i wish i could get a carbide bit I have done about 15 doors masonite and oak raised panel. Good solid item.

So close... but not quite - powderday - snow covered mountains
Like the other reviewers, I feel that this is close to what you need. I was on a budget so I bought this one anyway. You can make it what you need but for 0 should you really have to do that!? First, there is no padding on the faces of the metal plates so when you clamp it to the door tight enough to hold it as you drill it can damage the door... esp with softer woods. Simple fix is to put some thin high density adhesive foam on the plates. Second, the 2-1/8 drill bit is not carbide so dont even think of trying to drill through clean from one side. Also only plan on getting about 10 doors out of the bit that comes with it. To be fair, you cant buy another kit with a carbide bit for less than 0. So use the 0 you save and buy a nice SET of carbide bits! I dont understand why all these companies feel that its OK to skimp on the second most important part of the kit! Once you account for these two significant flaws the jig actually works pretty well. If youre not on a budget just step up and buy the classic engineering carbide kit.

The professional installer can mortise commercial wood or metal doors while using The Original Door Stand and install hinges , closers, locks, kickplates, flushbolts, exit devices as well. The installer can then use "The Original Door Dolly", Stan's partner, to transport the doors to their respective openings for a very smooth operation. For large commercial jobs we typically set up 8 to 10 door stands in one area....that's 16 to 20 doors ready for hardware. This is set up like an assembly line and is very orderly. After all the hardware is pulled for the doors and brought to the location where the doors are set up it is then placed by the related door...Closer, Kickplate,Lock, Push/Pulls, Exit device, Flushbolts... While the doors are setup we install all of the hardware in one centralized location.. Everyone performing some task relating to the doors .One installs hinges while another layout drills for closers (instead of performing this on a ladder !!) Install kickplates while the door is in the stand instead of crawling around on the floor balancing a swinging door, screws and a drill. The doors are then taken to their openings and hung the only thing left to do is to attach the closer plate to the frame.Hardware is installed MUCH Easier, Faster and with MORE consistency. No need to stay at an opening climbing up and down ladders while other trades enter and exit rooms. Your time at these openings are greatly reduced. Also the trash associated with installing hardware is all in one location instead of scattered throughout a jobsite. There's just so many benefits to the centralized installation method of door and hardware installation. Took me a long while to figure out i needed to screw this into my floor instead of the door base. After i figured that out and which way to mount it, etc...i really like it. The directions aren't all that easy to follow, but once it's in, it's sweet. Much better than the bat with a nail hanging out of it. Well worth it to not have to remember to put the bat back in and lean it against the wall when the door is open. Looks sturdy enough to last a long time and as long as you remember to press it back down, it'll keep the bad guys out for sure.
